Spring 2020 Watercolor Classes: Registration now open!

NEW Ukulele & Performing Arts Class

NEW music class being offered at Palama Settlement on Fridays, beginning December 7. Classes will be taught by Chris Salvador and focus on ukulele, guitar, and singing. Open to teens ages 13 to 17. To sign up for more information, please call Recreation Director Pi`i Minns, Jr at (808) 848-2503.

Sign up now for the new Palama Volleyball Clinic

On September 13 Palama held the first session of a six week volleyball clinic. The clinic will be held every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will end on October 18, 2018. It will focus on passing, serving, hitting, setting, conditioning and movement skills. Players will also have the opportunity to develop in-game skills through scrimmages. Registration forms may be picked up at the gym office or from the front desk receptionist. For more information contact Coach Neil or Coach Tama at (808) 848-2521.

Palama’s Junior and Senior Late Night Basketball Teams

Palama Settlement concluded a very successful Late Night Basketball season, winning the Junior title with a victory over Susannah Wesley Community Center. The Junior team went undefeated this year. The Senior team had two losses the entire season and were able to win two of their three playoff games, defeating Kokua Kalihi Valley and the YMCA.

Members of the champion Palama Junior team were Yasmine Kekahuna, Kili Hanakahi, Terance Garcia, Darren Corpuz, Kainalu Kaahanui, Luke Magelssen, Lui Culao, Brian Ballesteros, Xavier Marcelo, Christopher Cadiz Jr., Uriah Limos, Sidney Anac-Kapika, Zhymmore Paguirigan, Mahinalani Botelho, Javel Tago, Sean Aquino, and Jarime Justo.

Members of the Palama Senior team were Von Dickenson Ulsa, Francis Leasiolagi, Ryder Rebibis, Justus Ibana, Ronald Tampon Jr., Ronson Tampon, Chrilen Jibewemal, Sean Palting, Elijah Dolor, Chase Rebibis, Danny Killion, John Lloyd Aguinaldo, Kobe Soichy, Juan Diego Ricky, Rioni Leasiolagi, AJ Esah, Leojuan Ruma, Jenzen Ibana, and Jeff Faoa.

Palama Settlement Mustangs Win PAL Islandwide Volleyball Championship

The Palama Mustangs concluded their season 12-1, winning the PAL Central Honolulu title at Sale Lake Gym on June 23, 2018. They followed up their accomplishment with a title at the PAL Town and Country Classic, defeating a volleyball team from Kaneohe.

The members of the winning Mustang team are: Krysten Dacua, Kili Hanakahi, Leisea Kovaloff, Jestany Luhia, Mia Maiava, Melina Nardo-Mugutatia, Motu O’ Salaia Salavea, Isabella Simmons, and Carmela Tokumoto. They were coached by Rosita Nardo and Neil Nishikawa, with assistance from Pakolea Youth Specialist Tamatoa Silva.

We would like to congratulate Palama’s Pakolea Volleyball Team, the 2018 PAL Mustang Honolulu Central District and Town and Country champions!
