Palama Settlement received a $1,000 donation from HSN Cares! Sherry Walters, who nominated Palama Settlement as a recipient, presented Palama Settlement with a $1,000 check from HSN Cares at its May 6, 2015 board of directors meeting. In addition, the Walters family (Jim, Sherry and Jarrett) donated a matching $1,000 gift to Palama Settlement.
HSN Cares donates $1,000 every day during the month of April to charities across the country. HSN Cares selected Palama Settlement from a pool of thousands of entries. Walters shared her story with the network explaining that Palama Settlement “provides community courses from early childhood to senior citizens, summer enrichment programs, athletic programs including football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, music classes, and even hula, ukulele and fire dancing to preserve native cultures.”
