What has become an annual “kickoff” to the start of our Pakolea Football season, players and coaching staff from the HPU Men’s Basketball team coordinated games and activities on September 12, 2014. Nearly 50 players age 8 – 13 years from our Termite and Pee Wee age division teams took part in various competitions in the gym to promote team unity, fun, and competition. Players were divided into 6 “teams” and accumulated points for each event, such as basketball dribbling relays, hot shot competition, football throwing accuracy, and others.
The tackle football program started practices in August and will be competing in the Island Youth Football League. Games are scheduled to start September 27, 2014. For more information check back here, or go to the Pakolea Program website.
The HPU Men’s Basketball has used the Palama gym as their practices site for 4 years. Their players and coaches have volunteered with our youth sports program each year with this Scorpion Day event as well as volunteering for our summer basketball camps.
