Job Summary
Under the direction of the Computer Education Manager and Graphic Design Manager, the Digital
Arts Classroom Specialist I plays a key role in supporting digital arts instruction. This position is
responsible for assisting with classroom activities, providing guidance to participants, and helping
to maintain a safe, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment.
Working closely with participants in both individual and group settings, the Specialist offers hands-
on instructional support to enhance learning outcomes. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong
interpersonal and communication skills, maintains a proactive and supportive classroom presence,
and responds effectively to participants needs as they arise. Building trust, encouraging creative
expression, and promoting social-emotional well-being are integral to the role.
Essential Duties
-Instructional Support
-Assist lead instructors and department managers by following established lesson plans
and effectively using available instructional technology.
-Serve as a consistent and reliable support for the instructional team.
-Observe class dynamics and participant engagement; adapt support strategies to align
with varying learning styles and interests.
-Actively engage with participants one-on-one and in groups to encourage creativity,
collaboration, and participation.
-Share relevant observations and constructive suggestions with the Computer Education
Manager and Graphic Design Manager to enhance curriculum design and classroom
activities.
-Occasionally serve as a substitute for a lead department manager during scheduled
absences or emergencies.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Accountant manages day-to-day financial
operations at Palama Settlement. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data,
compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and the implementation of robust fiscal controls.
Key responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial
records, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budget support, and audit readiness. This
position collaborates with different departments to support grant compliance and ensure
transparent reporting for stakeholders.
Essential Duties
Accounting Operations
-Code and post transactions in the accounting system with proper descriptions.
-Maintain tenant payment records and receipt controls.
-Track Use of Facility and assist with collections.
-Maintain detailed schedules for balance sheet accounts.
-Prepare journal entries and maintain chart of accounts.-Code and post transactions in the accounting system with proper descriptions.
-Manage petty cash and document financial transactions.
-Organize and archive financial records.
-File monthly and annual general excise tax returns.

Job Summary
The Tutoring Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the
tutoring program to ensure high-quality academic support for students. This role includes recruiting
and training tutors, coordinating tutoring sessions, tracking student progress, and maintaining
strong communication with students, parents, and youth program staff. The coordinator will also
ensure that the program aligns with organizational goals and delivers measurable outcomes.
Essential Duties
-Program Management
-Develop, implement, and oversee the daily operations of the tutoring program.
-Coordinate student enrollment, assessments, and tutor assignments.
-Create and maintain program schedules, ensuring adequate tutor coverage.
-Monitor program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
Tutor Recruitment and Training
-Recruit, interview, and onboard qualified tutors and volunteers.
-Develop and deliver tutor training sessions and provide ongoing professional support.
-Evaluate tutor performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Student Support and Engagement
-Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks
-Track student attendance, progress, and outcomes using data management tools.
-Communicate with parents/guardians and teachers to support student success.
-Implement strategies to maintain high student engagement and participation.
Administrative and Compliance
-Maintain accurate program records and prepare regular progress reports.

Job Title: Lifeguard
Department: Recreation, Aquatics
Reports To: Aquatics Program Manager
Job Summary
This position is located in the Recreation Division. The mission of the Recreation Division is to provide
children, youth, adults, and senior citizens with the opportunity to participate in programs and
activities that promote health, wellness, positive interaction, development of social skills and
appropriate behavior, and a commitment to community development. The Recreation Division is
divided into three Departments: (1) Youth Activities Department; (2) Adult Activities Department; and
(3) Facilities Departments.
The focused mission of the Pool Department is to provide youth and adults in the community with
opportunities for public swim, water safety and learning how to swim. Additionally, the Pool
Department is focused on providing an opportunity for swimmers to pursue competitive and
recreational aquatic sports & activities in conjunction with positive mentoring regarding healthy
lifestyle choices (exercise, staying away from drugs, alcohol and smoking, etc.), goal setting and
community service.
Parent and community participation in helping to coordinate and mentor youth is encouraged and
training on how to effectively work with these youth is provided on an as needed basis to volunteer
coaches, parents/guardians, and staff.
The Lifeguard assists the Recreation Division Director with representing Palama Settlement in the
community, organizing community events centered on pool activities and other related duties.
Essential Duties
Lifeguard Duties
-Perform lifeguard duties during regularly scheduled pool hours, as agreed upon by the Recreation Division Director.
-Provide supervision of all pool users at all times to ensure that the pool rules are abided, and safety is maintained.
-Maintain current CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard and WSI certification.
Pool and Locker Room Maintenance
-Test and accurately record the daily levels of the swimming pool’s pH and chlorine levels.
-Notify the Recreation Division Director of any discrepancy and/or concern in the pH and chlorine levels.
-Assist in keeping the pool and surrounding areas clean. This includes the pool deck, office area, locker room and shower area.
-Regularly evaluate the safety conditions in and around the pool and report any concerns to the Recreation Division Director.
-Ensures that all pool equipment’s are locked and secured.
-Opens and/or closes facility following proper security procedures.
Administrative/Office Duties
-Maintain daily log of users of the pool (sign in sheet).
-Maintain daily record of the pool’s pH and chlorine levels.
-Assist with the completion of incident reports on any youth or adult who accesses the pool facilities and/or programs and submit to the Recreation Division Director and Executive Director for review and action (as needed).
Public Relations
-Assist the Agency with developing and distributing promotional materials such as flyers, brochures/pamphlets, and updated newsletters regarding the Pool Department’s activities and opportunities for youth and adult involvement.
