Job Summary
Under the direction of the Computer Education Manager and Graphic Design Manager, the Digital
Arts Classroom Specialist I plays a key role in supporting digital arts instruction. This position is
responsible for assisting with classroom activities, providing guidance to participants, and helping
to maintain a safe, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment.
Working closely with participants in both individual and group settings, the Specialist offers hands-
on instructional support to enhance learning outcomes. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong
interpersonal and communication skills, maintains a proactive and supportive classroom presence,
and responds effectively to participants needs as they arise. Building trust, encouraging creative
expression, and promoting social-emotional well-being are integral to the role.

Job Title: Youth Tutor
Department: Youth Programs
Reports To: Youth Center Manager
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Youth Tutor provides academic assistance and positive support to youth participating in Palama Settlement programs. The Tutor works directly with students to help them complete homework, strengthen academic skills, understand classroom concepts, and develop effective study habits.
This is an entry-level position that may be filled by a qualified high school or college student. The Tutor is expected to be dependable, patient, encouraging, and able to serve as a positive role model for younger students. The position does not have responsibility for managing the tutoring program, supervising staff or volunteers, or coordinating program operations.

Job Title: Lifeguard
Department: Recreation, Aquatics

Job Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming aquatic environment by monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, responding to emergencies, and assisting participants and guests. This position supports safe pool operations while providing professional and courteous service consistent with Palama Settlement’s mission.
