FAQs

Do I need any prior experience with clay?

No! This class is beginner-friendly and open to all skill levels.

What will we be making?

Projects range from simple pinch pots to small sculptures and creative functional work including mugs, bowls, small dishes, and vases.

Are materials provided?

Yes, all clay, tools, and supplies are included. Just bring your creativity!

Can I take my projects home?

Absolutely! Once your pieces are dry and fired in the kiln, you will be able to glaze (paint) your work. It is then fired a second time and you can bring your pieces home to enjoy or share as gifts.

What should I wear?

Clay can be a little messy, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or bringing an apron.

Land Acknowledgement
Palama Settlement stands on the Native Hawaiian ancestral lands of Kapālama and Honolulu. We acknowledge that in 1893, Queen Liliʻuokalani yielded the Hawaiian Kingdom under duress to prevent bloodshed. We honor the generations of Kanaka Maoli whose knowledge systems and lifeways continue to steward the ʻāina, wai, and lewa, protecting the lāhui to this day. With a deep sense of kuleana, we integrate Indigenous values and traditions into our programs and services, fostering a community rooted in respect and resilience.
