Palama Settlement is honored to announce that we have been awarded a $20,000 grant from The Rosendin Foundation in support of our Community Services Program. This generous award will directly strengthen our efforts to provide healthy, reliable food access for families in our community, an area identified by Conduent HCI’s Food Insecurity Index as among the highest at risk in Hawai‘i.

“Food security is the foundation of both health and dignity,” Palama Settlement shared in its grant acceptance. “As a community-based nonprofit serving an area identified as high risk, Palama Settlement understands how urgent this need is.

We are deeply grateful for The Rosendin Foundation’s commitment to elevating community health and for partnering with us to ensure our neighbors have the resources they need to thrive.

Land Acknowledgement
Palama Settlement stands on the Native Hawaiian ancestral lands of Kapālama and Honolulu. We acknowledge that in 1893, Queen Liliʻuokalani yielded the Hawaiian Kingdom under duress to prevent bloodshed. We honor the generations of Kanaka Maoli whose knowledge systems and lifeways continue to steward the ʻāina, wai, and lewa, protecting the lāhui to this day. With a deep sense of kuleana, we integrate Indigenous values and traditions into our programs and services, fostering a community rooted in respect and resilience.
